The Pacific Salmon Foundation is excited to partner with Cory Towriss, a highly experienced lawyer specializing in estate planning, and the Somenos Marsh Wildlife Society for an upcoming estate planning workshop. Cory has lived on Vancouver Island for 30 years, settling in Duncan in 2008. With a BA from Vancouver Island University and a law degree from the University of Victoria, she brings 10 years of legal expertise from her practice in the Cowichan Valley, specializing in estate planning.

Since 2018, PSF's Community Salmon Program has given more than $100,000 in grants to community-led salmon conservation and stewardship efforts in the Cowichan Valley and around Duncan.

WildWings starts tomorrow with the hanging of the Artist-Painted Nest Box art show at Just Jakes Restaurant in downtown Duncan. 39 exquisitely painted Swallow nest boxes by 39 extraordinary artists. Opening reception takes place Sunday September 29, 5-8pm at Jakes
The WildWings Nature & Arts Festival will take a pause for 2023 to evaluate some new directions for the festival that focus more on the work of our parent, the Somenos Marsh Wildlife Society, as we challenge some serious issues in our precious watershed. These issues will likely form a significant part of the 2024 WildWings Festival. In the meantime we are looking at continuing to host the annual WildWings Nature show this October at Just Jakes along with our nearly-famous artists painted nest box auction at the Old Firehouse Wine Bar.
